nest + company is seeking Designers/Project Managers to join the flock.

The role of our Designer / project manager is a supportive role on some projects while also managing other projects with senior staff oversight. This person will work directly with their co-Project managers and the Principal Designer. They will be involved in executing the vision of a project. This is a robust role which requires a variety of responsibilities, outlined below. The goal is to understand the complexities of a project and learn how to think about all components - plan and be proactive - while also continuing to hone professional and design competency. We are looking for an experienced individual who loves to work and is excited to grow and change with us as we explore all aspects of a rapidly moving creative environment.   • Develop & coordinate design concepts and functional requirements of a project from initial meeting through construction & installation with the Senior Team.

  • collaborate with team in all areas of design & project management

  • Project management with oversight. Serving as the main point of contact for clients, external project partners, and internal team.

  • Aid in the development and keeping of scope, budgets, schedules and project timelines

  • Collaborate on design process, See concepts through to completion in all design phases.

  • Identify and respond to client and external project partner needs.

  • Design & Drafting; including space planning, furniture plans, RCP’s, interior elevations, electrical, millwork, hardware, section drawings, 3D plans, and all details that bring a project to life.

  • Act as liaison between the design firm, vendors, and subcontractors including visits to project sites and vendor workrooms to oversee status & progress of fabrication and construction.

  • Preparation & upkeep of furniture plans & finish schedules.

  • Requesting samples, sample sourcing, follow up with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Manage shipping & receipt of all purchased items from time of sourcing through to final installation, with special attention to all deadlines and details.

  • Manage proposals, invoices, PO’s & Vendor Communication

  • Close out Document Generation

  • Spec Book development

  • Product Procurement, follow up and tracking where necessary

  • coordinate deliveries, installations & timelines

  • Joint team effort in office upkeep, organization & cleaning

  • Styling & staging & set up for Photoshoots.

  • Contribute to the overall culture and success of nest + company


  • 2+ years working in interior design role and a degree in interior design

  • Desire to work in a team atmosphere, support your peers and contribute to the culture, standards, and processes that make nest + company successful

  • good working Knowledge of material, hardware, and furniture sources, showrooms and retail stores.

  • Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, photoshop, Google Drive, Excel; a working knowledge of the houzz/ ivy design management software a plus but not required

  • Refined visual presentation skills as well as excellent written and verbal communications

  • a Personality that thrives in a very close-knit team setting; excellent interpersonal skills and customer service sensibilities

  • Project experience that includes the submission of drawing sets, including but not limited to layouts, elevations, and specifications

  • Exceptional level of attention to detail and a mastery of organizational and time management skills

  • Willingness to learn new Software

  • Reliable Car & willing to travel to site locations, workrooms, vendors, etc.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • live reasonably close to our studio in Norwood, MA.
